This restaurant interior was single-handedly transformed by Lucas Bass from a burned-out shell (literally, the old Charlotte's Kitchen, which had burned down) into this popular SOBE mainstay in 1999. All aspects of the interior were designed and built by Mr. Bass with the exception of the tile floor which went in at the last minute agaist his will and against everyone's better judgement. The restaurant was designed to to appear as if it had always been there, and to withstand the punishment of South Beach's late-night reveller crowd, allowing for inevitable damage and wear to integrate rather nicely.
